Animation

I grew watching Dexter's Labarorty, Bill and Mandy, and almost the entire offering of Cartoon Network in the early 2000s. I always loved cartoon, even as my age looms nearer surpassing calendar numbers I still love cartoons. Fed up with modern times cartoons not meeting the qualities of found most enjoyable in cartoons, I set a goal to learn how to animate so I could make my own cartoons. And 2020 gave the perfect set up for me to start, lock down. Being stuck at home, I learnt how to use animation softwares such as Adobe Animate, and the principals of animation by reading books and watching video's on YouTube. And out of all this came my short cartoon film called Thermo & Bill.

Thermo & Bill

Thermo and Bill is a cartoon about a brain that has a short temper, he reluctantly befriends a bill who despite being a "chill pill" seems to aggravate bill even more. Along the way the meet other friends who make up their crazy world. I create these films using primarily adobe animate, but oddly I actually first started with Adobe InDesign which was not ideal, but I was still fun. I would draw each frame using InDesign, and then I would user power point slides to bring it all together. Great fun, but I would never do it again(maybe)!

Coming over to my house music video

This project came together randomly, I worked with my  friend NJ on the music. The song was always meant to be fun(ny), but it had nothing to do with Thermo and Bill.

With bad news the norm of the day in 2020, I wanted to create content that made fun of the stuff that was happening. At the same time, I wanted to express my discontent with a certain president and the miss treatment of black people by the police.

I enjoyed the process, the music created the storyline and I already had the actors in Thermo and Bill.

Video prototype for a school prototyping sprint

During a prototyping sprint, I created a short animation  as visual support to explain how the product we were prototyping would work. Most importantly, it was meant to aid my groups effort in explaining how the interface would work.

The power of video prototyping and how it can be used to prototype an experience can not be understated when used correctly.
